Loving all the Victoria Schwab YA stuff! This is really solid paranormal (supernatural?) dark fantasy. Reminds me of Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers and Melissa Marr's not-faerie stories. Original concept done well, creepy without being too horror-riffic, twisty plot that's not completely predictable and some nice emotional beats. Engaging fast read.
